<p>1498982 Apparatus for waste water treatment: aerator HOWDEN ENG Ltd 29 Jan 1976 [9 Jan 1975 (2) 26 Feb 1975] 930/75 931/75 and 8089/75 Heading C1C An organic waste water treatment plant comprises a closed cylindrical waste water treatment compartment, a hollow annular aerator disposed within the compartment and means for supplying air under pressure to the hollow of the aerator, the aerator having a plurality of air discharge ports disposed so that air bubbles from the ports cause an upward flow of waste water through the opening defined by the annulus. In use the cylindrical compartment is disposed with its longitudinal axis horizontal and the aerator disposed vertically above and near to the bottom centre line of the compartment with the centre axis of the opening vertical. A preferred aerator is shown in Figs. 2 and 3 where the air is introduced to the aerator through aperture 33 and is discharged through ports 40 to opening 35.</p> |
