Tubular fabric transport control - has tensioning beam with edge monitors to apply corrective pressure to fabric to return it to straight course

The passage of continuous tubular fabric is effected by rollers, where >=2 are used within the machine for transport and guidance ranging across the fabric width. One roller is associated with a tensioning beam running across its length. The moving edge of the fabric is monitored and its position compared with the required position for the material to follow a straight course. If there is a deviation, then one and/or both sides of the tensioning beam is adjusted to apply a reverse thrust on the fabric edge to restore it to the right course. The adjusting action is executed after a suitable period. Design ensures that any correction on the fabric course is gradual and controlled, without rapid responses and resulting over-correction when a deviation is noted.
