A vitreous enamel resistor compsn. comprises borosilicate glass and 75-10 wt.% finely divided conductive particles of MoSi2, WSi2, VSi2, TaSi2, ZrSi2, CrSi2 or TiSi2 together with reaction prods. with borosilicate glass. The compsn. is coated onto the surface of a ceramic substrate and is heated at sufficient temp. to provide the reaction prods. The compsn. is inexpensive and provides a wide range of stable resistance values. E.g. samples of WSi2 fired in N2 had resistance of 21-875,000 OMEGA/square, with TCRs of -1010 to + .0685%/degree C. over 25-150 degrees C. |
