PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record and reproduce with a laser beam having a wavelength band of 700 nm or less with excellent storage stability by incorporating one or more types of compound represented by a specific formula in a recording layer. SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium comprising a recording layer 2 provided directly on or through an undercoating layer 3, and as required, a reflecting layer 6 and protective layer 4, the layer 2 contains at least one type of compound represented by formula I, where M denotes two hydrogen atoms or a metal atom having (OPR11 R12 )t, (OPOR13 R14 )t, (OSiR15 R16 R17 )t, (OR19 )t, (OCOCOOR20 )t, (OCOCOR21 )t or (OCONR22 R23 )t, R11 to R23 each denote an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group which may independently have hydrogen or a substituent, t denotes integer of 0 to 2, R1 to R4 each independently denotes a phenyl group substituted by a substituent selected from the group consisting of a fluorine atom, etc., and X1 to X4 each denotes a hydrogen atom or halogen atom. |
