<p>Dewooling machine for animal skins, as described in the parent patent, in which skins are secured to work tables which are chain-conveyed on a vertical run between dewooling cylinders. Each table is encircled by a conveyor band which is displaced vertically as it passes between the cylinders so that the whole skin is exposed for dewooling. In this addn. conveyor band movement is obtd. by fitting to a band pulley shaft a sprocket to engage a drive chain rising at a speed which greatly reduces the maximum relative difference in speeds between the skin and the dewooling cylinder surfaces. Displacement of the skin conveyor band around its work table pref. continues for >=1/2 of the vertical run between dewooling cylinders. The relative speeds of the tables crrier chains and band drive chain can be adjusted, esp. by altering the ratio of the effective dias. of their respective driving chain wheels on a common shaft. Thus the dewooling action between skin and cylinders can be optimised to improve skin quality.</p> |
