<p>A rivet assembly capable of being driven, piercing a workpiece and set with a single impact blow. The assembly includes a body member with a shank having an enlarged head at one end and a tapered penetrating point at the other end. A bore is provided in the shank to accept a drive pin with the bottom wall of the bore serving to transmit driving force from the drive pin to the body member. The shank will be weakened longitudinally and provided with a washer device or radial protuberances in the vicinity of the bottom wall to prevent radial expansion of the shank prior to penetration of the workpiece.</p> |
