Associated with the tilting arms (10) carrying the shaft (5a), on which the set of rocker levers (1) of the mechanism pivots, are deformable operating means (13-14) which tend, during weaving, to keep the said shaft (5a) laid elastically against fixed bearing surfaces (9a) of the frame (9). This avoids the occurrence of the wear attributable to the residual play following the effect of the vibrations to which the shaft (5a) is subjected.
