POLYCARBONATE RESIN FOR OPTICAL DISK SUBSTRATE AND OPTICAL DISK SUBSTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin suitable as the material for an optical disk substrate having little defects due to flash without unnecessarily increasing the add amount of a release agent, and to provide an optical disk substrate formed from the resin. SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin for an optical disk substrate has 10,000 to 17,000 viscosity average mol.wt., <=0.2 ppm iron content and <=80 ppm total free phenol, and contains 100 to 500 ppm of a release agent. The optical disk substrate is formed from the resin.
