<p>The pumps (27) for the floating dock are located in the double bottom in a service shaft running the length of the dock and reached by transverse service shafts from the side sections. The water ballast tanks are set under the access shafts. The pumps operate directly from the drive motors without any complex mechanical drives from above the water surface. The service duct serves to reinforce the middle of the dock to take large loads. The side sections have vertical shafts leading to the transverse shafts to the pumps.</p> |
