1496246 Quaternized triazolo azo tetrahydroquinoline dyestuffs IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES 10 June 1976 [11 July 1975] 29226/75 Heading C4P Novel azo dyestuffs devoid of -COOH and -SO 3 H groups have the formula wherein R is hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, thienyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylthioether, arylthioether, aralkylthioether, alkoxy or aryloxy; R<SP>1</SP> is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, chloroalkyl, bromoalkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, 2-carbamoylethyl, 2- carbamoyl-2-methylethyl, lower alkoxyethyl or lower alkylcarbonylethyl; R<SP>2</SP> is a non-ionogenic substituent, n is 0, 1, 2 or 3; R<SP>3</SP> is straight chain butyl, pentyl or hexyl and X is an anion. The dyes are prepared by alkylating the appropriate azo dye. They may be used in particular to colour polymers and copolymers of acrylonitrile and dicyanoethylene, and also acid-modified polyesters and polyamides. |
