1496207 Beds and frames; broaching machines LEAR SIEGLER Inc 30 April 1975 [22 July 1974] 17980/75 Headings B3L and B3B A machine tool, e.g. a vertical broach in which a workpiece 70 is pushed through a pot broach 60, is constructed to minimize noise generation, said machine tool comprising a main vertical support plate 10 on which the pot broach 60 is mounted, integral ribs 16 on the back of the plate 10 and extending below a lower edge 12 of the plate to floor support plates, and an open frame structure 46, 48 connected to the plate 10 and supporting the main support plate 10 above floor level, a workpiece support and feed arrangement being mounted juxtaposed to said pot broach. Laterial horizontal plates 22 support a mounting plate 24 from which an hydraulic ram is supported to push the workpiece 70 through the pot broach 60. The plates 22 are supported directly from the floor support plates by vertical plates welded to the extension of the ribs 16 below the main plate 10. |
