<p>The rotary cutter is carried on a chassis by means of a parallelogram linkage and is counterbalanced by a counterweight. The rotary cutter may be adjusted through 180 deg., without increasing friction on the shoe whatever the unevenness of the land, by means of a mechanical or hydraulic variation in the length of an arm. The counterweight can slide or oscillate to reduce or increase the pressure on the ground of the rotary cutter, and to stabilise this pressure in spite of unevenness of the ground. The speed of the rotary cutter may be adjusted to suit the speed of the tractor and the nature of the material to be cut.</p> |
