<p>1495959 Flame-retardant polycarbonate compositions GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 16 Dec 1974 [28 Dec 1973] 54248/74 Heading C3R A flame-retardant composition comprises a polycarbonate and an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of a monomeric or polymeric sulphonic acid containing a grouping wherein an oxygen atom is bonded to a group selected from and the sulphonate group is attached to an aromatic ring. The salt is preferably present in an amount of from 0À01 to 10 weight per cent based on the polycarbonate. Many salts are specified, e.g. sodium (4,4<SP>1</SP>-dichlorodiphenyl carbonate)-2-sulphonate and polysodium (bisphenol A-polycarbonate) polysulphonate.</p> |
