发明名称 TEXTILE FINISHING PROCESSES
摘要 1496000 Obtaining improved surface effects HEBERLEIN & CO AG 18 March 1975 [22 March 1974] 11175/75 Heading DIP An improved surface finish is obtained on a textile material consisting, at least partially of cellulose fibres, by applying to the textile material a finishing agent, capable of crosslinking with the hydroxy group of the cellulose fibres, dissolved in a carrier comprising a homogenous mixture of water and at least one organic solvent, controlling the stability of the mixture by the salting-out or salting-in effect of a chemical agent so that, upon application of the carrier to the cellulose fibres, a complete phase separation between aqeuous and solvent phases is effected and whereby a concentration of the finishing agent passing into the aqueous phase is effected in the interior of the fibres, and heating the textile material to produce a wash resistant fixation of the finish. A reaction catalyst may be present in the carrier or may be applied separately. The organic solvent may be an aliphatic alcohol (1-8C), ketone, ester or mixtures thereof. The salting-in or salting-out effect may be obtained by using neutral. or acid or potentially acid salts or organic acid which may also serve as reaction catalysts. Suitable salting-out agents are sodium, magnesium or zinc chloride, magnesium or zinc nitrate, and aluminium chloride hydrate. Suitable salting-in agents are maleic, citric, tartaric, malonic and fumaric acids. The textile is preferably pre - impregnated with an aqueous solution of the salting-out agents. The salting-out or salting-in agents may be present in the water-solvent mixture in masked form such as thermally unstable metal complex compounds or insoluble salts held in suspension by protective colloids. Many crosslinking finishing agents are disclosed, the use of dimethylol dihydroxy ethylene urea, dimethylol propylene urea and hexamethylol melamine being exemplified. The water-solvent mixture may further contain auxiliary finishing agents soluble in organic solvents e.g. optical brighteners, softeners, e.g. polyethylene or polyacrylate softeners, and hydrophobic agents. While the phase separation concentrates the cross linkable finishing agent in the aqueous phase at the interior of the fibre, the solvent phase containing the auxiliary agent is forced to concentrate at the exterior of the fibre. The textile material may be a flat structure e.g. a woven or knitted fabric of cotton, or regenerated cellulose fibres or mixtures thereof, or mixtures of cellulose and synthetic fibres e.g. cotton/polyester mixed woven fabrics. 'After application of the finishing agents and drying, and prior to washresistant fixation, the flat textile structures may be subjected to mechanical deformation e.g. the application of pleats and/or processing into wearing apparel.
