<p>A mobile communication terminal capable of confirming connection with a packet data service network in a dormant state during a data communication service is provided to simply confirm the existence of a packet not received from a packet data service network without a channel reconnection attempt by transmitting an echo packet to the packet data service network in case a mobile terminal is located at a weak electric field area in a dormant state in the middle of data communication with the packet data service network. A mobile communication terminal comprises a communication state transfer part(295), an RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) detection part(230), an echo packet creation part(2951), and a data transceiver part(293). The communication state transfer part(295) enters into a dormant state in case no packet transmission/reception to/from a packet data service network occurs during a preset time. The RSSI detection part(230) detects the RSSI of a radio signal received from the antenna. The echo packet creation part(2951) creates an echo packet in case an RSSI inputted from the RSSI detection part(230) is below a preset value in the dormant state. The data transceiver part(293) transmits the created echo packet to the packet data service network, and receives data from the packet data service network.</p> |
