<p>New pyrrolidone derivs. are of formula (I) and their salts. R1 is H, lower aliphatic hydrocarbyl or 3-8C cycloaliphatic hydrocarbyl. R2 is (a) 1-10C alkyl opt. substd. by 1-5C alkoxy or ArO, where Ar is phenyl opt. mono-, di- or trisubstd. by 1-3C alkyl, 1-3C haloalkyl and/or halogen, or (b) 3-7C cycloalkyl or phenyl opt. mono-, di- or trisubstd. by 1-3C alkyl. A is C=C, cis-CH=CH or CH2CH2. B is trans-CH=CH, or can be CH2CH2 when A is CH2CH2. A typical cpd. is 1-6-ethoxycarbonyl-2-hexyn-1-yl -4-3-(RS)-hydroxy-(E)-1-octen-1-yl pyrrolidone. In an example, this is prepd. by reducing 1-6-ethoxycarbonyl-2-hexyn-1-yl -4-3-oxo-(E)-1-octen-1-yl pyrrolidone.</p> |
