The parent patent described a filter using cheap materials as filtering agent, e.g., clean waste paper; having a grid across to trap the larger fragments and lengthen the useful life of the filtering agent. By this addition, a layer of activated carbon is included in the filter, enclosed between grids and interposed between the main filter and the outlet. The appearance of the unit is improved by making it in the form of a closed metal cylinder, with an inlet pipe in the centre of one conical end, and an outlet pipe similarly at the other. Used to removed vegetable peelings, grease, etc from waste water prior to its disposal. |
