摘要 A shift control system of an automatic transmission in a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to enhance an engine block effect by maintaining a present shift stage in a lift foot-up state. An acceleration pedal detection unit(10) detects a displacement of an acceleration pedal. An engine RPM(Revolution Per Minute) detection unit(20) detects an RPM of an engine. A knob switch(30) is installed at a predetermined position of a shift lever or a peripheral part of the shift lever. A shift control unit(40) maintains a present shift stage in a lift foot-up process by analyzing acceleration pedal displacement information, engine RPM information, and knob switch information. The shift control unit maintains a present shift stage without performing an upshift control when detecting a contact point of the knob switch and a lift foot-up at the present shift stage in a traveling state.
