<p>The connecting bolt for locking together I beams (1) forming part of a mine gallery cladding framework consists of tubes (2a, 2b) which are interlocked with one another at the same time gripping the horizontal bottom flanges of the J beams. Each tube has a cut-out near one end, to receive the flange. The end of one tube (26) carries a sleeve (3b) to fit over the end of the next tube (2a) near the cut-out. The sides of the cut-out and also the ends (8) of the sleeve slope at 45 deg. to the face of the flange. A key (6) is fitted through slots (7) through the tube end and the sleeve, to lock them onto the flange. There is an overlap between the contact end (5) of the muff, and the inner end of the cut-out.</p> |
