PURPOSE:To correctly read an image without causing drop-out due to a color by providing an illuminating means with plural light sources to be lighted at a time and different in their emission wavelengthes. CONSTITUTION:An LED array 12 is formed by arranging plural pieces of LEDs of the emission wavelength lambda1 in a line, and the LED array 13 is formed by arranging plural pieces of the LEDs of the emission wavelength lambda2 (lambda2not equal to lambda1) in a line. Besides, the LED arrays 12, 13 are arranged nearly in parallel, and illuminate simultaneously the nearly same part of an object 3 from two directions. Thus, the occurrence of a drop-out phenomenon caused by the specified combination of the color of the object to be read and the wavelength of illuminating light is reduced, and the acquisition of the correct image data of the object to be read becomes possible, and, for instance, the identification of a card-shaped medium in a card-shaped medium processing device can be facilitated. |
