<p>Press die is provided for mfr. of film- or plate-like input or output media, partic. for video and/or audio signals stored in the form of surface structures, from a block of heat-curable material which can be deformed by the action of heat and pressure between heatable and coolable mould sections. The central area of the die, which is free from the information-bearing structure, has a roughened surface. This provides such a high frictional resistance to the block as to prevent the skin of the block from slipping into the information-forming area of the die. The block is held during pressing at the surface areas which contact the dies and which are hardened by intermediate cooling to form a skin, in the roughened central area.</p> |
