1520964 Preparing floor covering material CONGOLEUM CORP 24 May 1976 [23 May 1975] 20564/76 Heading B2E A resilient floor covering material is prepared by treating a substrate, e.g. of felt, woven fabric or knitted fabric made of wooly rayon, nylon polyesters, polyolefins, asbestos, glass wool, mineral or slag wool or metallic threads optionally impregnated with a vinyl resin, a butadiene styrene resin or other thermoplastic or thermosetting resin, with a foamable material, e.g. PVC homo- or copolymer, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, phenolic resin, urea resin, synthetic rubber, urea formaldehyde and neoprene, gelling and printing. A polyurethane wear layer is applied to the gelled and printed layer as a composition of viscosity 40-100 centipoises by reverse roll coating using a ratio peripheral speed casting roll: peripheral speed back up roll of 0.8:1 to 1.1:1 and the layers are foamed and cured so that the curing of the polyurethane does not exceed 80%. |
