<p>Liq. shampoo comprises 10-40 wt.% of >=1 anionic surfactant of formula RO(CH2CH2O)nSO3M (I) (R = 11-14C alkyl n = 0 for 0-5 wt.% n = 1-3 for 90-100 wt.% and n >=4 for 0-5 wt.% of the compsn. M = alkali (ne earth) metal or 2-3C alkylolamine), with the balance being mostly water and the compsn. contains no anionic surfactants other than (I). Ess. (I) is 15-25 wt.% and comprises 2% with n = 0; >95% with n = 1-3 with 3% with n >=4. Compsns are less irritating to the skin than similar ones contg. appreciable amts. of (I; n = 0); have good lathering power and provide a good finish to the washed hair. An exemplified compsn. comprises 20% Na polyoxyethylenelauryl sulphate (12% n = 2; 87% n = 3; 1% n = 4); 5% lauryl diethanolamide; 0.5% Na benzoate; 2% NaCl; traces of perfume and dyes, and 72.5% dieonised.</p> |
