The method of securing together wire mesh used to line mine galleries where the mesh is formed by parallel wires crossing one another at right angles, has hooks (6) formed on the ends of longitudinal wires at the crossing points with cross wires (3). The bent ends of the longitudinal wires of the adjacent mesh are then inserted near these crossing points. The first wires are bent into simple hairpin bends to form the hooks, and the connecting wires are bent downwards to pass through the loops (5) and this part (4) is held against the cross wires, which are of a diameter larger than the remainder of the cross wires.
