The system has at least one loudspeaker box for l. f. signals reproduction. The loudspeaker boxes are active boxes with their own amplifiers and own power supply independent from the l. f. control unit. The latter has a sender transmitting a light signal modulated with l. f. Its wavelength lies in the invisible part of the spectrum. The loudspeaker boxes have receives for the light signal reception and recovery of the l. f. signal. Typically the light used has a wavelength of 700-850 n. m. lying in the IR spectrum.
