摘要 FIELD: communications. ^ SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to communication engineering and is meant for determining location of a mobile terminal, particularly in mobile communication networks. The wireless information network contains at least four base stations and mobile terminals, which can measure levels of incoming signals and transmit them to the base station, as well as a controller, connected through a switching centre to a server for determining location of a mobile terminal, which has a device for displaying the location. The mobile terminal measures the power level of signals received from base stations and transmits signals of measured power levels to a service base station, where, through switching, the measured signals are transmitted to the server for determining location of the mobile terminal, where, using information on the power radiated by base stations and parameters of antennae of the base station, the location the mobile terminal is determined, fixing the coordinates to the mobile terminal in the plane of the information network. Coordinates to the mobile terminal are determined from the coordinates of the point of intersection of three circles, the radii and centres of which are calculated using information on coordinates of base stations, in the server for determining location of the mobile terminal. To determine coordinates of the mobile terminal, parametres of directional antennae of the base station, such as antenna height and antenna gain factor, are used. The ratios of distances from the mobile terminal to the base station are determined. Further, using triangulation method, coordinates of the point of intersection of the above mentioned three circles are determined, after which the digital signal, corresponding to coordinates of the point of intersection of these three circles, arrives at the device for displaying location, on the screen of which is shown the electronic map of the area stored in its memory, with location of the wireless information network, on which the digital signal is converted, corresponding to coordinates of the point of intersection of the above mentioned three circles. A symbol is displayed, for example a telephone receiver, on the plane of the electronic map of the area, corresponding to the coordinates of the mobile terminal. ^ EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining location of a mobile terminal, as well as provision for efficiency, clearness and easier monitoring location of a mobile terminal. ^ 4 dwg
