The damper is fitted in a frame consisting of flanged parts. The cross section of the flanges is a triangle-shaped box and the connection of two adjacent frame parts is by angle pieces inserted into the hollow triangles as the corners and then bolted together. A sealing strip (30) of five resistant material is inserted between the faces of two adjacent flanges. Its position in relation to the edges of the damper blade can be adjusted in such a way that a reasonable sealing results without the damper blade jamming inside the duct. The inner edges of the sealing strips slightly project into the duct and the blade is provided on either face with a plate with angled edges which serve as a stopping surface for the closed position of the vane.
