<p>1445721 Road-traffic signals GULF & WESTERN INDUSTRIES Inc 14 Sept 1973 [14 Sept 1972] 43347/73 Heading G4Q A road traffic signal S controller B includes a digital computer with a memory 12 to store separate numerical values for selected functions of the controller, and comprises a switching circuit for manually selecting one of the numerical values, a visual display means for displaying the selected value, manually operable means for changing the value displayed to a new value, and means for then storing the new value in the memory. The embodiment concerns the control of signals at a cross-rods Fig. 1A (not shown) and incorporates a loop traffic detector 40, a pedestrian button 42 and a timer 46. The switching circuit includes a plurality of switches each of which corresponds to a selectable function, means for allowing actuation of one switch only at any given time, a decoder 14 to afford an output corresponding to an actuated switch to address the corresponding location in memory 12. The visual display is a 7-bar type, an appropriate decoder being provided. The digital processing &c. is described in detail, Figs. 2A-21 (none shown).</p> |
