<p>1471437 Coupling appliances to containers SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 22 May 1974 [25 May 1973] 22897/74 Addition to 1329157 Heading F2G A coupling device whose connecting member 18, substantially as described in the parent Specification 1,329,157, is in addition externally threaded as at 50 to receive a nut 52, captively fitted on the hose 12. The nut has an internal radial annular flange 54 which co-operates with the integral flange 56 at the end 58 of the hose 12 there being a spring washer 60 interposed therebetween. The end 58 of the hose is provided with an annular groove 62 which accommodates a ring seal 64 such as to provide hermetic sealing between the hose 12 and the end 20 of the connecting member. To limit rotation of the nut a disengageable stop of the dog clutch type is provided, comprising a protruberance 70 on the plane annular face 66 of the nut 52 co-operating with a tongue 72 formed on the periphery of the extension 68 of the sleeve 34 and is disengaged by moving the sleeve 34 downwards against the spring force exerted by the fingers 24.</p> |
