<p>Process for small scale prodn. of carpets, carpet fragments etc. is performed with a temporary weft grid through the holes of which one or more strand of wool are passed from one side to the other to form loops on both sides. After fixing to one side a piece of fabric by adhesion, heat-welding etc. all the loops on the opposite side are cut, and the grid is withdrawn by simply removing it on the side of the cut loops. The grid is pref. made of rigid or semi-rigid material with a thickness of 0.5-2 cm. The process allows economical use of material due to suppression of the knots which are normally formed with each strand of wool. Also, it can be performed with greater rapidity.</p> |
