PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractable cord reel having a ratchet part near a perimeter of a cord reel.SOLUTION: A retractable cord reel comprises: a container; a spool 16 positioned within the container and arranged for rotation relative to the container; a stationary cord 18 extending from the container; a retractable cord 12 capable of being extended from and retracted into the container and further capable of being in electrical communication with the stationary cord, and a ratchet 24 mounted on the container. The ratchet has an engaged position where the ratchet is in electrical communication with the spool. Further, the ratchet has a disengaged position where the ratchet is not in electrical communication with the spool.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
