<p>The interposing circuit may be employed to connect the distribution circuits in a caravan or boat to the mains supply in safety. It is placed between the mains connecting plug and the circuits to be fed, and comprises an electronic checking and switching arrangement. The main functions of this circuit are to ensure that the live side of the supply is only connected to the side of the load designated live, to check that the supply neutral is at earth potential, and to indicate errors. The circuit automatically changes the supply live potential to suit that of the load. It may also be used to disconnect the supply in the event of a defect on the load side thereby giving complete isolation.</p> |
