<p>The collapsible towbar is made in three telescopic sections, with a larger middle section. No circular cross section hollow tube is used to prevent the sections from twisting, and with the max. extension secured by stops. Clamps at each end secure to the towing points on the vehicles. The bar is erected using self locating ratchets which drive spring loaded bolts through coincident holes through the sections. This allows the towbar to be fitted in the non extended position, by non accurate positioning of the vehicles. As the towing vehicle is driven off the towbar extends and locks automatically.</p> |
