In known wall elements, it has proved disadvantageous that they are not stable enough in order to be able to be fitted in a self-supporting manner - for example, as intermediate walls. As a result, a novel structural element is to be provided which may be used in any manner as an intermediate wall or floor part, as well as a load-bearing element for window sills, door thresholds or the like. For this purpose, a foam core (10) is accommodated in a box-like casing (9) which is at least U-shaped in cross-section and consists of a wood-like solid material, and reinforcing inserts (11, 12, 13) are embedded in said foam core. In this arrangement, the reinforcing inserts (11, 12, 13) are to be embedded in rigid foam, in particular in a casing (9) consisting of mineral bound wood wool. <IMAGE> |
