<p>1492397 Road traffic bollards CLAUDGEN Ltd 23 May 1975 [27 June 1974] 28506/74 Heading E1G A traffic bollard such as 2, Fig. 2a secured to or integral with a base I has within its lower region an internal auxiliary signal means comprising either a fixed road marker cone (not shown) or (as shown) panel 8 bearing a sign repeating that on the bollard itself, the internal cone or signal panel being so secured in the base or ground that if the main part of the bollard is carried away in a collision it remains and becomes exposed to function as a road sign. The signal panel 8 shown in Fig. 2a is pivotally mounted and is urged erect by a spring (being normally held horizontal by the main part 2); a readily broken plug and socket 13-14 is provided for lamps in the main part. In modifications the panel 8 may be folded rather than pivoted, and be urged erect by self-flexing; alternatively a panel 8, Fig. 1b, may be fixed erect and protrude above a transparent lamp cover 11 in the base.</p> |
