The retracting kerbside marker post for highways has a reflector and is mounted on a cantilever arm which pivots under about a vertical axis permitting the post to retract and thus facilitate verge maintenance. The axis of cantilever support rotation is eccentric relative to the post's vertical axis and the support is elastic. The support arm is of two sections, a basal element which is anchored in a buried concrete block, and an arm with articulation provided between the two sections and systems of cams limiting rotation and effecting recoil. Alternatively, the arm may rotate relative to the concrete base and the post may be of hollow inverted arrow form. |
