<p>A sound absorbing structural block having a cavity with an aperture facing the sound source. A frequency filtering septum divides the cavity into two volumes, thereby achieving a secondary absorption peak at a frequency higher than the fundamental resonant frequency of the cavity. In one form, a sound absorbing fibrous filler material is laminated to the septum. In another form, multiple septa are used to achieve plural secondary absorption peaks.</p> |
