Bursting unit for endless perforated web - has corrugated web path running between roller pairs at inlet and outlet

The bursting unit is for an endless web with transverse perforations, operating with min. tearing force to avoid lateral displacement of the endless web. The unit has two roller pairs of which the outlet pair is driven at a higher rotational speed than the inlet pair. The path (29) of the web is bent between the roller pairs so that tearing edge is located at the bent point of the web and extends with a roof-shaped peak into the centre of the web track. The part of the web fed to the outlet roller pair is bent at an angle of approx. 35 to the part leaving the inlet roller pair.
