<p>Patterning knitted hosiery of thermoplastic yarn is carried out by printing the knitted article blanks with the pattern while applying heat, and simultaneously forming and fixing. Pref. the blanks are fitted over moulds of thin resilient material e.g. cardboard prior to printing, and are passed together with a paper contg. printing inks through a heated printing press between two rollers which are pressed against each other and of which >=1 is heated. Alternatively, paper contg. printing inks is disposed on both sides of the blanks for passage through the printing press. Complicated patterns, e.g. floral patterns, can thus be produced without excessive additional output.</p> |
