<p>A process for composting waste containing animal and/or human excretions like manure, waste water or sewage sludge is proposed in which said waste is converted into a highly viscous suspensoid dispersion in a closed container with the addition of chopped biologically degradable carbon-containing substances like straw, for example, by agitation using one or more dispersing tools with the exertion of mechanical energy and the controlled addition of air and then composted by an aerobic decomposition process. The mechanical energy is applied by a dispersing tool by means of cavitation effects which result in the physical and chemical conversion of the liquid into a highly viscous mass. The air introduced in finely divided form causes the composting process to act rapidly on the mass and to accelerate in aerobic conditions so that, after a fairly short time, compost is provided which can be used directly as an organic fertiliser.</p> |
