<p>Terminals and similar fittings of conductive metal rod are assembled to insulating cases for electrical appliances, after being finish machined complete, including at the height of the zone to be embedded, a transverse milled slot of suitable depth. The fittings are positioned in the recesses of the mould, and moulding is carried out so that the material not only surrounds the metal rods, but also penetrates the slots and locks the fittings against both the possibility of axial displacement and rotation. Methods allows fixing of terminals and other details during moulding. Prodn. cost is reduced, round bar can be used instead of polygonal material. Damage to the moulded case during machining and assembly, as well as loose connections likely to cause sparking are eliminated.</p> |
