<p>Air is supplied either by blowing or drawing it in, through the gap (a) between the top of the chimney and an open mixing zone (7) above it, giving extensive mixing with the smoke. The mixture is positively discharged at high speed in a powerful jet thrusting against the atmospheric air, giving dispersal over a wide area. Gas and atmospheric air can be delivered to the smoke in the interval above the chimney outlet (3) by the action of a fan (8) in a mixing cylinder (7) producing after-burning.</p> |
