<p>The appliance is for the cutting and crimping of a thin tape esp. magnetic tape. It has a body (10) with a slot (12) in one longitudinal side, forming a track to accommodate the tape. A cap (40) acts elastically with the body to cut and crimp the tape. The longitudinal cap side covers the slot during cutting, and has two tongues, extending within the grooves in the body. The tongues are formed to force the tape into the correct position within the track before cutting. The cutter consists of a sleeve (14) within the body, open in the area of the slot, and of a punch (42) in the cap. The punch moves into the sleeve during cutting, and the cutting edge is positioned on the inner edge of the sleeve. For crimping, the body has an embossing surface (16) with grooves within the cutting area of the sleeve.</p> |
