Angular type screen for rotary hammer mill - has screen with series of surfaces converging on particle flow direction

The hammer mill has an inlet for the particles to be ground and a set of rotary hammers imparting a circula path to them, together with a perforated screen forming the outlet. The screen (5) is of angular form, constituting a series of screening surfaces converging so as to form an angle of less than 45 deg. with the direction of particle flow. Each screening surface can be alternated with an adjacent one of smaller dimensions, giving it an asymmetrical shape. The screening surface angle can be between 5 and 40 deg. pref. between 10 and 25 deg. or 16 deg. to give a high rate of material flow through the mill and less variation in the size of the ground particles.
