AUTOMATIC BACKKPASTING APPARATUS FOR MOSAIC TILES

The tiles (T) which form the mosaic are assembled to form a square on the assembly plate (17) mounted on the carrier plate (19). Stacks of paper discs are stored in cylindrical housings (1). A suction device (E) with multiple suction heads is placed over the paper store and lifts the top disc off each stack. The suction device (E) is then moved sideways over the roller (D) which applies adhesive to the paper discs. The device (E) then presses the discs onto the mosaic assembly (T) so that each disc overlaps the corners of four adjacent tiles. A second suction device (F) then moves over and down onto the tiles and lifts the assembly onto the conveyor (C).
