PURPOSE:To obtain the high-purity terephthalic acid in high yields by [a] dissolving the crude terephthalic acid obtained by the liquid oxidation of p-dialkylbenzene in the presence of catalyst, in hot water, [B] isolating the first crystallization products, and [C] returning the second crystallization products to the aforesaid oxidation process.
