<p>Cleaner for loom reed comprises a cleaning blade which travels the full depth of the reed and which is aided by a cleaning fluid which is supplied automatically by means of a pipe. The blade may be in the form of a dent hook of which the outer cutting edges are obtd. by forming teeth, grooves or any other structure which promotes cleaning. As cementing of the reed gaps can be very tough and the ejected dirt must be conducted away, cleaning is assisted by a fluid e.g., benzene, trichloroethylene, CCl4 etc. which is disposed in a trough immediately underneath the reed. The fluid is entrained by entry of the blade into the reed gap and conveyed by the pipe to the surface of the reed at least in the region of the blade.</p> |
