PURPOSE:To prevent the excessive light emission of semiconductor laser by switching a reproducing and recording switching signal earlier than a sample- hold switching signal at the time of switching a record-hold mode to a reproducing mode and reducing the output of a comparator. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing and recording switching signal c is switched earlier than the sample-hold switching signal a at the time of switching the record-hold mode to the reproducing mode. And a reproducing power reference voltage is given to the negative input side of the comparator 5 by a reference voltage generation circuit 12 by making the signal c at a low level. Then, the negative input side of the comparator 5 is made to be a positive side and the output of the comparator 5 is reduced before switching. Thus, the excessive light emission of the semiconductor laser is prevented at the time of switching.
