<p>Apparatus for cutting continuously travelling plasterboard has two contra rotating cutters, each with a cutting blade across it, the width of the travelling board with a cam system (42, 46) to control the distance between the cutters and hence the cut. This cam system consists of a cam surface (46) which is forced horizontally between a pair of follower rollers (42) by a hydraulic cylinder (56) in line with the cam. These operate through a linkage so as to control the acceleration and retardation of the cutters. A setting device (60-66) which determines the maximum distance appart of the cutters controls the horizontal travel of the cam (46) and at the same time determines the mean height of the cutters. The system also includes an electronic control circuit.</p> |
