<p>The automatic electronic regulator circuit is fitted with overload protection and under short-circuit conditions, draws very little power. The circuit consists of a control transistor (TS1) whose collector load is a tapped choke coil and free-wheel diode (D1). The coil is connected via a capacitor to the base of one transistor of a differential pair acting as a control amplifier which senses the difference between a voltage reference provided by a Zener diode (Z1) and the output voltage (2-3). The tapped winding of the coil (L) is bridged by a capacitor (C3) to form a resonant circuit which switches at a rate greater than that of the control transistor at light loads and which is above the audio frequency range.</p> |
